Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of soy or nut milk ( I use home made sesame seed milk)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 scoop of Spirutein powder
  • 1 tbsp Brewers Yeast (great source of B-12 for vegans/vegetarians)
  • 1 tbsp raw coconut oil
  • Agave sweetener (to your taste)
  • dash of nutmeg
  • dash of cinnamon

Method:

Add all ingredients in blender, blend and serve.  If too thick, add more milk.
Enjoy!

About Sesame seed milk

Sesame seeds are rich in manganese, copper and calcium, vitamin B1 (Thiamin) and vitamin E. They also contain sesamin,

which is a phytoestrogen (estrogen-like chemical compound derived from plants) with anti-oxidant properties. There may be an allergic reaction (very rarely reported 5-13 per 100,000); so be careful if introducing it to your child for the first time.

Making milk from sesame seeds appears  to be quite easy. Soak sesame seeds in water overnight. Drain off water and add sesame seeds to a blender. Add 2 parts fresh water to 1 part of sesame seeds. Blend vigorously at high speed until the mix is a milky white homogeneous blend. Use of white or brown sesame seeds is recommended. Here is a video on YouTube.
