March is the National Nutrition Month! Sponsored by the American Dietetic Association, this year’s theme is Nutrition from the Ground Up. It is a very interesting theme, one that evokes a lot of ideas about nutrition. Here is one image that came to my mind when I first heard about it!

So, dear readers! I would love to hear about what this notion of Nutrition from the Ground Up means to you.

Please share your thoughts in your comments below. I will compile your response in a blog post, along with a few comments from my registered dietitian friends.

I think of it as getting back to basics. Eating whole, nutritious foods.

Nutrition from the ground up makes me think of small steps. It’s so easy to have big goals when it comes to nutrition but those big goals are so hard to reach. Small, realistic, manageable steps are the key to building nutrition from the ground up. Make one or two goals that work for YOU and then enjoy making progress and building your nutrition from the ground up.
