My kids love hot dogs. What does the research show about eating cured meats like hot dogs several times a week? Does it really increase the risk of cancer?

2 Jessie May 2, 2010 at 7:29 pm

Oh, and a related question. Are the “nitrate free” hot dogs that use celery juice any healthier than the regular hot dogs?

3 Rachael May 2, 2010 at 11:40 pm

Is apple Juice really all that bad for a child who has reflux? What about OJ?

4 Jessica May 2, 2010 at 11:49 pm

Is it possible to eat “too much” fruit

5 Jessica May 2, 2010 at 11:51 pm

I suscribe to your newsletter :-)
I would ask a nutritionist what kinds of fruits & vegetable supplements/replacements I can give my daughter who refuses to eat fruits or vegetables. Are fortified juices good replacements? Are vitamins? Any help would be great. Thanks!

7 ro May 3, 2010 at 12:28 am

My question: how do I make sure I squeeze enough servings of each food group into their diet? Also, I am a subscriber by email and confirmed.

8 ro May 3, 2010 at 12:30 am

I fanned/liked Littlestomaks Facebook page just now.

10 Angelina May 3, 2010 at 12:34 am

sometimes my son won’t eat for days, except nibbles – and other days he will eat like crazy. Is this normal and healthy? Should I enforce more regular eating patterns?

11 cassandra aubut May 3, 2010 at 2:37 am

I would ask for a meal plan! I know that probably sounds silly- but I want to give them all the nutritional elements they need and want a spelled out chart to do it. OCD maybe?? :)

My child is only 2 1/2 years old and loves to drink to much milk. How can I make sure that I am not over doing it with him?

14 Aisha May 3, 2010 at 3:21 am

I would ask what are the best food to give to kids in certain ages like from toddler to teens. It’s now a concern for me since I’m pregnant with my first.

15 Aisha May 3, 2010 at 3:27 am

I’m a fan of you in FB. Sorry, used the wrong email add on my 1st comment. Both email works but this is what I used to subscribed on your feed.

I would ask the best way to get them to eat more fruit- now all they want are things like fruit snacks!

18 Anne May 3, 2010 at 8:06 am

My question is – is eating too much dairy a problem? My daughter loves milk and yogurt and cheese, and some days eats 6-7 servings of dairy products. Should I limit her to 4?

I would ask my pediatrician for specific details on resources to educate my tweens on the value of good nutrition and link to health. I would also ask her for ideas on a menu plan.

I would ask what tactics/habits to use to build a life long love of healthy eating. I feel as though she has a great approach to eating now (even at 4!) but I’d love to know how to keep that going through the tough teen years and beyond.

24 Jamie May 3, 2010 at 9:21 am

I would ask about my kids and multivitamins. I always hear they don’t need them, but I’m never sure they get enough of the right vitamins in everything they eat.

25 Birdie S. May 3, 2010 at 9:28 am

I would ask the Dr. about the best foods for Teeth Health other than cows milk for my kids…

I’m a Facebook fan. As for a question, I don’t have too many, but recently, I did ask my pediatrician how many IUs of supplemental vitamin D she recommends daily for kids.

37 Jennifer C May 3, 2010 at 10:53 am

I would like to know the “truth” about Organics. Everything you read shoves the Organic label down your throat. But what if an all-organic diet for your toddler is not financially feasible?; are there other ways to give them a pesticide-and hormone-free diet?
Thanks!

38 Casey May 3, 2010 at 11:38 am

I have a very underweight toddler. What are the best ways to add calories to food? I am often told to add cream, olive oil, or butter, but that just doesn’t seem healthy.

39 Yami May 3, 2010 at 11:40 am

I will ask the Dr. wow may meals and milk bottles does my child need to have during a day.

40 Claire May 3, 2010 at 11:41 am

Is whole wheat bread really a good substitute for brown rice & oats & other pure grains?

41 Yami May 3, 2010 at 11:41 am

45 Nikki May 3, 2010 at 1:18 pm

How do I get my 8 year old to TRY new healthy items without gagging?! Is there an easy way (for a mom who works out of the home) to hide veggies in things when he won’t eat casseroles?

46 Danielle May 3, 2010 at 3:20 pm

I would ask “How much milk is too much?”. My kids love milk and that seems to be one of the only things they ever want to drink.

How much food is too much? One of my friends gave his 18-month old baby 12) strawberries and wondered why the kid got sick! (This kid is not a big baby, in fact he’s quite small for his age) I’m not that clueless but sometimes I worry about over/under feeding.

61 carmen May 3, 2010 at 11:14 pm

If I could find out one thing about nutrition for kids, I think it would be to ask about how much dairy and meat they need at each age. Sometimes I wonder whether our menu is enough or too little. I’d like more scientific insights!

I would ask if I should start giving my daughter daily vitamins (like the Flinstone gummies) and if so what kind should I buy?

I’m subscribed to the newsletter. I’d ask how to get my child out of the “I only like 10 foods” routine. Thanks.

I would like to ask a nutritionist if my grandchilren need supplements. If so, what kind? Also, how do I make sure they get enough to drink during the hot months if they won’t drink water?

All my child will eat is peanut butter and jelly, should I force other foods on them?
